Okay, I am a blogging slacker! I know, I know. But geezzzz, I've had a lot going on lately! We are finally finished with the Hash Bash in Abbeville. It was a huge success but I'm not gonna lie, a huge pain! So I'm glad to see that come and go!
Sunday morning, Danny and I took off to Charleston. FINALLY! This was considered our one year anniversary trip (3 1/2 months later). Once again, we've been busy!
My aunt and uncle recommended we stay at Water's Edge Inn on Folly Beach, SC. We knew right away that we would go there for our anniversary. This place was awesome! It had 8 rooms and then several villas that were separate.
The first night, we stayed in "The Pacific."
It was really nice and big!
The second night we stayed in "The Caribbean."
This room was a tad bit smaller, but more homey feeling and it had a nice size balcony.
We had to switch rooms because one room wasn't available two nights in a row on the dates we had planned to go. I thought that was a plus, since we got to see more than one room.
They provided breakfast each morning, complimentary snacks and drinks, they came in each afternoon while we were gone and laid back our sheets, and put a piece of chocolate for each of us along with the next day's forecast and suggestions on what we could do that next day. It was top of the line treatment! Something that we aren't used to!
On Sunday, before we checked in, we went to the Boone Hall Plantation to the Southern Living Taste of Charleston. It was pretty cool! They had tons of restaurants set up under individual tents giving out these awesome samples of their food paired with beer and wine. The food was delish!! But it was so much, we got full really fast! The best was the fried corn on the cob from a place called Rita's that is located on Folly Beach. It was SO good! Many of the vendors were serving brisket. They also had a band playing (Homemade Wine) and a ton of other things. They had a whole separate section targeted towards Southern Living (the magazine). They had guest speakers from the magazine, Carolina shagging lessons, prizes, etc. etc. It was a nice event, you should go next year!
While in Charleston, we decided to go on a ghost tour!!! They had several to choose from, but we chose the Old Jail. It was super creepy! Here's what it looks like....
...and we went in it! The tour guide really knew how to tell good stories, so it was pretty fun. And nothing weird happened while we were in there, thank goodness!
Well we got back just in time for our doctor's appointment this morning. I thought we were going to get an ultrasound, at least that's what I was hoping for. But they just did the doppler thingy and talked to the doctor. It took a while to find the heartbeat, we got really nervous...but finally, she found it!! Doc says every thing's looking great!! So that's a relief. One thing new though, they are going back to my original due date. Apparently, they weren't suppose to change it in the first place. So, our due date now is April 28, 2012. So that makes me 11 weeks and 4 days instead of 10 weeks and 5 days. Yay! Moving on up!
So last week, Baby Gunter was the size of a .... prune.
"With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)"
-The Bump
But now, since they're telling me I'm 11 weeks, Baby Gunter is the size of a lime! Really?
That's seems big!!
"Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future."
-The Bump
Our next appointment will be in 4 weeks, the first of November. Right now we're trying to figure out when we should go for our ultrasound to find out the gender. The office wants to wait until 19 weeks, but I doubt that will happen!
Any other preggers out there have any interesting stories
about what's going on with them??? I'd love to hear!
