Week 14 and Hallow's Eve

Week 14! Baby G is the size of a lemon!
I didn't think there was any difference between a lemon size and a lime size (last week), but it's like doubled in size! I was just reading The Bump's description of what the baby is doing this week and what parts are growing and I just got really excited!   ...............

"Your adorable little baby is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth."
                                                                                             -The Bump

Thumb sucking and toe wiggling! What!! That sounds like what a baby would do! lol How awesome! Up until this point, he/she has been busy growing, and now he/she is doing baby things:)

Tonight, we'll be headed to my parent's neighborhood and join in on their Annual Halloween Parade then a hot dog supper. I love Fall:) Pumpkins, pretty leaves, nice cool air, the smells. I am pumped for tonight! I love seeing the kids costumes. Baby G will be involved next year!! I'll be the one to dress my kid in something 110% creative and off the wall! Or I may be over it by then and zip up some monkey outfit on him or a flower outfit on her. As long as I plan ahead, I'll be alright.

In other news, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are getting a divorce! How terrible! They've been married all of 72 days! I love that show:(

Second Trimester Weirdness

So I'm a week into my 2nd trimester and things are definitely changing...

1.  Using the Ladies Room ALL the time.

Yes, I do mean every 20 minutes. On a normal evening before bed, I use the bathroom, then go to bed, then wake up in the morning and go again. Pretty normal right? The other night, I got in the bed and watched TV for a little while. Between the time I laid down until the time I fell asleep, I got up FOUR times! Really? I was getting really annoyed. I had heard that frequent urination was a sign of pregnancy, but the entire 1st trimester I didn't have any problem with it. But BAM! 2nd came, and it's a never ending flow.

2.   Headaches from the Devil.

Oh man. Everyday I have a headache. I don't like taking Tylenol for it because, well I'd just rather have no meds while pregnant. But I have definitely started carrying a bottle of it in my purse all the time now. It may be a combination between preggo and major tension and stress from work. I'm trying hard to chill out but it's difficult! I think a law should go into effect....If you are pregnant, you get 3 days off and a $500.00 bonus PER week to go out of town and hang out with your husband! Yea, I think I'll work on that! lol

3.   Something that has to do with the Ladies Room that I'm not going to discuss. Read "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy for more information!!

4.    Random Dreams

In the past week, I have started to have weirdo dreams, every night! Not all to do with the baby, but some. Like last night, I had to dreams. One was about my wedding day, but it was at the Citadel in Charleston. My mom's side of the family was there, even my cousin who killed himself back in April. That is what it was mainly about. I kept looking at him, in awe that he was even there. It was like I knew he should be there. The second dream was about me giving birth (very early on) in WALMART! Yea, so weird. But what made it even more strange, it was totally okay to do that! I remember asking my Mama if she'd go and buy me some undies and a night gown since I hadn't packed anything since it was so early.

A BIG Day

Today is a BIG day!!
I'm working, then going home to my hubby to probably cook, clean and watch a movie (okay tough luck, probably football!). So what's so BIG about today?? It's the first day of my SECOND trimester! Whoo hoo!! A big whoppin' 13 weeks!
To give you an update:
  • I haven't been as exhausted as I have in the past
  • The whole STARVING situation is definitely getting better
  • I don't feel like I'm bloated and 8 1/2 months pregnant anymore
......  Things are just better! Bring on the next set of downfalls:)

This week, Baby Gunter is the size of a....PEACH!
" Your baby is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.) "
                                                                                       -The Bump

On my "down time" I have been researching different ways to do the big reveal. The cake is alright, but so overdone. I was going to do the pink or blue balloons in the big box, but now everyone is doing that too. I like to be creative and original and neither one of these are now unique. So, I was pinning on Pintrest and saw a picture of something. And WA-LA, I had a brilliant idea!! As far as I know, no one has done this before, so I hope to be the first one! And although I love surprises, and normally wouldn't tell you until time to do it....I won't be like that! I'm not telling because I don't want anyone to copy me! lol All these pregnant folks in Greenwood these days, no way! So you'll just have to wait until I post pictures of the party! I know, that stinks...I'm no fun, blah blah. But this will just keep you coming back for more:)

In other news, Jackson, my BIG little brother's Senior Night was last night at the football game! How sad! We now have only 2 games left and the season will be over! Slow down! That was too fast! He had a GREAT game and we are proud! Here's a few pics....

What are we going to do with our Friday nights next Fall????
Oh yea, the baby will be here then:)

Moving Right Along

Moving right along....I'm in my 12th week! So Saturday will be my first day of my 2nd trimester!
This week Baby Gunter is the size of....
...a plum!
"As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed."
                                                                                              -The Bump

So that's exciting! We're truckin' right along!
We have decided to wait until about 18 weeks to find out the gender of the baby. Finding out ASAP is awesome, but I sure don't want to get anything wrong or as Wanda Witt put it, "something my fall off or decide to grow in the early stages!!" haha Speaking of Wanda Witt, just wanted to give a big shout out to her!! She's a very good friend of mine's mother
and a very knowledgeable nurse at Greenwood OB/GYN.

"Thanks Wanda for listening to me as I freak out and ask you a bazillion questions. (There's more where that came from!) You're a huge help and nerve calmer!!"

I'm so anxious to get another ultrasound! I wish they would do one every 4 weeks! I thought they did, but wishful thinking. Last time we saw Baby Gunter was when he/she was an almond. So I believe things have really changed since then. He/she is suppose to look like a baby now!

On another subject, folks are really getting worried about what we decided for a name! lol Mama's freakin' out! She's scared that she won't like it. I can understand that, but oh well. Suggestions are welcome, but don't expect for us to change our mind because of one person's opinion. lol And for future reference, if your opinion is negative, keep it to yourself:) haha
Bottom line, no matter what the name will be, when that baby comes, nothing else will matter! I mean, come on, we're not gonna pick a stupid name to call our child for the rest of their life!
Give us a little credit!

Completely off subject, but I did want to share this....it is awesome!

Until next time, hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

Crowns and Mustaches

I've been "Etsying" several things for the gender reveal and I am getting super pumped about it! You know, you see all these pictures that look like Martha Stewart came in and decorated it and it looks so perfect. That's what I'm aiming for. Well, that's what I always aim for, but then I run out of money or time or energy or caring about the whole thing! So we'll see how this party goes. Here's what I ordered so far...
Mini Crowns

 Mini Mustaches

and Blue and Pink paper straws
Don't ask what I'm using them for, because it's a SURPRISE!!
I've got a ton of ideas about what I'm going to do. Now I just need to figure out where it will be! Our house is too small, and no moolah to rent a place....so I'm still brainstorming on that.

But first, I need to focus on my best friend's graduation party!! We're super excited about her big accomplishment!! Go HOLLY!!! I'm helping her family (my 2nd family) put it all together. I can't say too much about it since she'll probably read this.

On other fun news...Danny and I decided on a girl name AND a boy name last night! "What is it," you ask? Yea right, like I'm spilling the beans just yet! We'll announce our decision at the gender reveal party in a few weeks! But I will tell you this, it's nothing you've expected!

A Taste of Charleston

Okay, I am a blogging slacker! I know, I know. But geezzzz, I've had a lot going on lately! We are finally finished with the Hash Bash in Abbeville. It was a huge success but I'm not gonna lie, a huge pain! So I'm glad to see that come and go!

Sunday morning, Danny and I took off to Charleston. FINALLY! This was considered our one year anniversary trip (3 1/2 months later). Once again, we've been busy!

My aunt and uncle recommended we stay at Water's Edge Inn on Folly Beach, SC. We knew right away that we would go there for our anniversary. This place was awesome! It had 8 rooms and then several villas that were separate.

The first night, we stayed in "The Pacific."

It was really nice and big!

The second night we stayed in "The Caribbean."

This room was a tad bit smaller, but more homey feeling and it had a nice size balcony.

We had to switch rooms because one room wasn't available two nights in a row on the dates we had planned to go. I thought that was a plus, since we got to see more than one room.
They provided breakfast each morning, complimentary snacks and drinks, they came in each afternoon while we were gone and laid back our sheets, and put a piece of chocolate for each of us along with the next day's forecast and suggestions on what we could do that next day. It was top of the line treatment! Something that we aren't used to!
On Sunday, before we checked in, we went to the Boone Hall Plantation to the Southern Living Taste of Charleston. It was pretty cool! They had tons of restaurants set up under individual tents giving out these awesome samples of their food paired with beer and wine. The food was delish!! But it was so much, we got full really fast! The best was the fried corn on the cob from a place called Rita's that is located on Folly Beach. It was SO good! Many of the vendors were serving brisket. They also had a band playing (Homemade Wine) and a ton of other things. They had a whole separate section targeted towards Southern Living (the magazine). They had guest speakers from the magazine, Carolina shagging lessons, prizes, etc. etc. It was a nice event, you should go next year!

While in Charleston, we decided to go on a ghost tour!!! They had several to choose from, but we chose the Old Jail. It was super creepy! Here's what it looks like....
...and we went in it! The tour guide really knew how to tell good stories, so it was pretty fun. And nothing weird happened while we were in there, thank goodness!

Well we got back just in time for our doctor's appointment this morning. I thought we were going to get an ultrasound, at least that's what I was hoping for. But they just did the doppler thingy and talked to the doctor. It took a while to find the heartbeat, we got really nervous...but finally, she found it!! Doc says every thing's looking great!! So that's a relief. One thing new though, they are going back to my original due date. Apparently, they weren't suppose to change it in the first place. So, our due date now is April 28, 2012. So that makes me 11 weeks and 4 days instead of 10 weeks and 5 days. Yay! Moving on up!
So last week, Baby Gunter was the size of a .... prune.
"With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)"
-The Bump

But now, since they're telling me I'm 11 weeks, Baby Gunter is the size of a lime! Really?
 That's seems big!!
"Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future."
-The Bump

Our next appointment will be in 4 weeks, the first of November. Right now we're trying to figure out when we should go for our ultrasound to find out the gender. The office wants to wait until 19 weeks, but I doubt that will happen!
Any other preggers out there have any interesting stories
about what's going on with them??? I'd love to hear!

Belly Laughs

So first off, I'm 9 weeks along! Man, this is moving faster than it was towards the very beginning. Probably because I've been so busy at work. So here's how big the little munchkin is.....

As big as...an olive!
"Our little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood.  With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, the baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!"
                                                                                            -The Bump
How exciting!

Preggo symptoms have been about the same. Still no sickness, a little nausea.

I got my second pregnancy gift this week, a book! And can I say, the best book I've come across so far! It is a book about EVERYTHING that this one certain woman went throught during her pregnancy. There were no secrects left out, no nice way of putting ANYTHING. It is the most honest book I have ever read, so that makes it AWESOME! I'm not a fan of over-the-top cussing, vulgar language or nasty discussions, but this book is all of that! She's simply being honest and expressing just how she feels about it, all of it! It's a must when you have decided to drink the water like everyone else has in Greenwood.
Here it is...
Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy, so you can imagine. Thanks Abby Funderburk for my gift!
P.S.  Did I mention that I HATE to read? Well this one is so interesting, I read half of it before a game at a baseball tournament this past weekend. You gotta get it. End of discussion.

Speaking of Abby Funderburk, she almost killed me and Baby Gunter Saturday! Yea, I'm serious.
I was asked to 2nd shoot a wedding with her Saturday since she literally had NO ONE else available. "Me??" I can't even use my own camera, much less let you trust me with your 5 million dollar camera and this couple's wedding pictures!!! But, since she's awesome, she assured me that she would teach me everything I needed to know. So I agreed.
So she started teaching me a few weeks ago and I winged it!
Here's my favorite of the day. Jay Jordon was so nervous to see his Bride! It was so sweet! I stood with him while Abby went to get Anna Grace.
Their wedding was so nice and so beautiful! Congrats to Anna Grace & Jay Jordon!!
It was a long day and Baby Gunter was really mad that I stayed on the go so long that day, so he/she made me feel it that night. I couldn't MOVE!
But it was a great experience and I'd do it again anytime:) Thanks Abby!

So I am SUPER pumped about this Sunday!! Danny and I are leaving for our 1 year anniverary trip to Charleston for a few days! I am so ready. This is going to be a long week for me. Piedmont Blues and Hash Bash this weekend in Abbeville so I am swamped all week with that. Vacation!! Yay!!
More details on where we're staying a little later!
